Delivering a flexible workforce for 24/7 point-of-sale operations
The Challenge
OA supported a client who required a flexible and responsive workforce to support their point-of-sale packing operations. With activity running 24/7 and demand levels fluctuating throughout the week, they needed a rapid and reliable staffing solution that could adapt quickly, including weekend cover.
In 2021, the partnership began to support their evolving requirements. This included providing an onsite Account Manager, supported by a remote recruitment team to oversee associates and ensure workforce planning remained agile, efficient and aligned to changing operational demands.
The Approach
Our approach provided end-to-end support, combining onsite presence with dedicated remote assistance to ensure full visibility and responsiveness across a fast-paced operation.
We delivered comprehensive onsite support and in-depth training to ensure all candidates were fully prepared and aligned with expectations from day one. Payroll was managed with accuracy and consistency, supported by tailored incentive programmes designed to drive engagement and performance.
Alongside operational delivery, we prioritised ethical working practices and candidate wellbeing, with a focus on mental health support throughout. We also integrated the JoinedUp system to streamline timesheets and reporting, improving efficiency and transparency across the workforce.
The Results
Between 2021 and 2022, OA increased its management of workforce requirements from 40% to 76%, demonstrating consistent growth and strong performance across the partnership.
From January 2023, OA was entrusted with 100% coverage of workforce needs, reflecting the strength of the relationship and the confidence built through continued delivery and results.
This partnership has been further endorsed by the client, recognising OA’s robust approach, reliability and contribution to enhancing workplace culture and supporting overall business success.
